Melvin John “Moose” Muzinich passed away on March 25, 2008, at his home in Penngrove, California, in the arms of his loving daughters Melanie and Gina. Moose was 84 years old. He was born in San Anselmo, California on March 11, 1924, and raised in Marin County.
Moose spent World War II in as an Army Infantryman in Europe - where he survived so many close calls that it was obvious he was meant to live a long meaningful life. He influenced and touched many people in beautiful, unique and tremendous ways.
Moose spent 44 years as ranger for the Marin Municipal Water District. Moose and his wife Eleanor raised their two daughters on water district land at Phoenix Lake.
Moose enjoyed every moment of his retirement by riding horses, hunting, fishing, camping and enjoying the company of his many, many friends. Moose truly lived every moment of his life to the very last.
Moose was genuine, simple, generous, hardworking, old-fashioned, funny, rugged and beautiful. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor, his daughters Melanie and Gina, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister Christine, and more loving friends and extended family than could possibly be listed here.
We gave Moose the best send-off we knew how. Services were held Sat. April 5th, 2008 at St. Rafael's (San Rafael Mission). Moose's own horse was led riderlerless behind a hearse drawn by two black Percherons. A bagpiper provided the music. We miss you, Moose.
